I don't know what it is about the recent fad to add finishing moves in action games recently, but I know I love it. Nothing says pwned liked chopping off the enemy's legs before you thrust your overly massive sword through his chest and then kicking his dead carcass off your blade.
Of course the best games that I've played so far that allow finishing moves in their combat system is: Darksiders and God of War 3, although I do remember Dragon Age to have included finishing moves every now and again when you find the darkspawn.
I just finished playing some Darksiders a bit a go, and at the end of the boss fight I used a finishing move that basically sliced off each of the boss' arms first, and then jammed the blade down his skull. How ridiculously manly can you get?
Oh of course, God of War 3 I think really went over the top with the finishing moves and amount of gore put into a game. Just from playing the demo you can tell GoW3 is going to be full of over the top violence, like the scene where Kratos rips off the head of Helios to use it as a flashlight.
I hope this fad keeps it up, it adds some more excitement to the hack and slash genre.

Bonyari Reviews スタート!
Man, blogs are annoying aren't they?
So basically, this is the first post to kick off the new blog "bonyari." To introduce myself, I'm a 24 year old American guy livin in Tokyo, who works for Sony Computer Entertainment Japan.
Because of my involvement with the game industry, I end up playin' a lot of the games coming out, and also because I'm bilingual, I can have access to games available in Japan
before America.
So it came to me, why not create a blog in which I review the latest games, and give recommendations, and also allow people to request reviews if they want...
Of course, I only have a limited amount of time outside work, but I'll try to get around to playin' games when I can. By the way, the reviews are limited to PSP/PS3 games only!
I'd like to also take time in each game and maybe point out some technical insight on why this game might be impressive.. for those 2 of you who care anyway..
Pretty soon I'm gonna start the blog off with a review on Demon's Souls, which is by far one of my favorite games of all time. If you want any other games reviewed, just let me know.
So until then, keep it classy America.
PS: Enjoy the launch of FF13 and GoW3!
